The Harper

A wonderful hotel with a modern and homely vibe. We had delicious, high quality food at Stanley’s restaurant. My massage at the spa was fabulous. Would highly recommend a meal at Socius at Burnham Market also. We will certainly return to The Harper, Langham

We enjoyed two nights at The Harper in a biggest + double room. The room was great, spotlessly clean and very spacious with a beautiful bathroom. The spa is a real treat and it was lovely to have private use for thirty minutes each day. Robes, towels and flip flops are all provided. The Den is a great space with a pool table and board games. My only gripe was paying £9 for a shot of Gordon’s gin. The breakfast was fantastic, fresh croissants and a choice of cooked options, all of which were high quality and delicious. We had Sunday dinner at The Langham Blue Bell where the roasts were exceptional! Overall it was a great stay and highly recommended!

The perfect blend of luxury and independence Fabulous from start to finish, a truly unique from design and decor, to the scent they chose for their reed diffusers. Everything was just gorgeous. We highly recommend booking a spot in the leisure facilities, swimming pool, and sauna etc. Sadly the steam room was out of action, but the jacuzzi was fab. The spa treatments are not to be missed, robes and flip flops are provided in your room, plenty of big fluffy towels and lockers available in the changing rooms though. The food in Ivy's was delicious, as was breakfast the next morning. Our only minor complaint is that the hotel and rooms are VERY hot, so if you run hot you will want your aircon on/ the windows open, but it's minor. 10/10 for the bed comfort though - great nights sleep, we'll be back!

The Harper is quite unique, aiming to bring the feel of an urban boutique hotel set up to a prettier setting. Well, it does exactly that. The rooms are stunning, in fact the decor throughout is refreshing and modern without crossing the line into being tacky. Our experience throughout was brilliant. Upon arrival we were greeted by Caroline on the reception desk , who was a pleasure to deal with throughout our stay. Incredibly friendly with a wealth of knowledge about the establishment. She was also a huge help in providing recommendations for places to visit in the local area. Our dinner too was exquisite, some perhaps quite adventurous dishes but not once did they cross the line into being pretentious. It was clearly a busy night as there was a long wait for some dishes, but we completely understand this is sometimes the nature of a busy restaurant. In fact, in the era of microwaved restaurant food it is refreshing and reassuring to have to wait! The restaurant manager Sophia was excellent in communicating the menu to us, and of course making sure we were content at all times. Friendly and smiley ( yet always professional ) , she is a perfect example of the type of person one wishes to be greeted by when eating in a fine establishment such as The Harper. 5 stars to The Harper!

Beautiful hotel A lovely overnight stay with friend to celebrate a big birthday ….. great ambiance and excellent staff

Having just returned from a birthday stay and read some of the other reviews i felt i had to leave a review ourselves. Like many others have said, the location is stunning, but the service and general 'feel' of the place is lacking. For the price point it really needs to be A+ service but falls far short, a lot of the simple things were poorly executed, or simply not thought about. - The management were informed of dietary requirements weeks in advance but treats left in the room had allergens in them. Not a massive issue, but again, its the small touches that make the difference when paying £300 a night. - There is clearly a staffing issue, we had our planned massage treatments cancelled 2 hours before due to staff sickness, can't be helped, but again left a sour taste. - Our evening food order was incorrect, but was dealt with swiftly. Perhaps the most disappointing thing however was the steam room being out of order, something that another reviewer reported over a month ago, this could have been explained to us on arrival, but we found out when we went to the pool. Issues like this could and should have been sorted swiftly, especially as we saw workmen around the spa throughout our stay. I will say the lady on reception (Caroline) was lovely and very apologetic, and we were offered compensation off our food bill, which was accepted, and reflected in the review score we've given. However that aside it is evident from the other reviews here, and our own experience, that long-standing issues exist with the management, service and staffing which lets down what could be a nice spa
